Library Summer Reading Program Concludes

Our summer reading program “A Universe of Stories” has come to a close, and we would like to say a very special thank you to our community.  Thanks to our dedicated staff, sponsors, volunteers, teens, participants, parents/guardians, & child care centers; Warren Branch Library was able to “Rock’ this community and provide a variety of fun, educational programs to over 168 participants!!
During the summer reading program, participants learned about moon science, constellations, rock formations, meteors, asteroids, & astronaut yoga.  Participants also took part in reading challenges, astronaut training, a rock painting project for our community rock garden, as well as a community service project (school supply drive).  All participants were rewarded with an opportunity to throw water balloons at Mrs. Sandy & Mrs. Christy.

A one week art camp was provided again this year which included creating moon sculptures with air dry clay, galaxy and star paintings, space art using pastel chalk art, and a field trip to Rob Reep’s Studio where they created a constellation canvas painting.

Our goal this year was to portray the importance of literacy and learning.  Warren Branch Library is truly blessed and grateful for all the support of our community!!  Again, we would like to say thank you to our community as a whole for allowing us to create “A Universe of Stories” in our community!!
