Pine Bluff, Arkansas – November 29, 2018

The Public Private Partnership between the City of Pine Bluff and Go Forward Pine Bluff is pleased to announce plans for a family-themed downtown holiday celebration December 6 through December 9, 2018.

“Mistletoe Magic: Believe in Miracles” will begin on Thursday, December 6, with the annual Christmas parade beginning at 4th and Main at 5:30. The parade will continue to Barraque, then west on Barraque to Walnut St, then south to 4th. There are 44 entries in this year’s parade including 24 floats.

After the parade, the public is invited to Saracen Landing where Mayor Shirley Washington will kick off “Mistletoe Magic: Believe in Miracles”. First, second and third place prizes for the parade floats will be awarded as well as a performance by the Jenkins Choir.

Attractions throughout the weekend will be an ice-skating rink, a 31 ft. tall Snowman Bounce House, ornament making for kids and of course, Santa! There will also be a life size Snow Globe that doubles as a photo booth.

Food truck vendors will be parked at Lake Saracen with warm food and hot chocolate.

The UAPB Jazz Band will provide entertainment on Friday night from 7 to 9 pm. Retail vendors will display their wares on the Pavilion for your Christmas shopping pleasure along with other attractions including food trucks and soup and desserts by Chef Jamie McAfee from 5 pm to 9 pm.

The festival will continue on Saturday from 10 am to 9 pm and on Sunday, 12/9, from 11 am to 4 pm.

Admission to the festival is free. There will be a $5.00 skate rental fee and a $5.00 fee to get inside the Snow Globe. Waivers must be signed by all skaters; minors must have waivers signed by a parent or guardian.

Saturday’s entertainment will begin with the Highway 49 Blues Band, 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm, and the On Call Band from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. The Pine Bluff Community Choir will round out the entertainment Sunday afternoon with familiar Christmas carols.

The Decorations committee headed by Julie Bridgforth and Jodie Jolly are busy transforming Saracen Landing into a Christmas Wonderland. You will not believe your eyes, unless you “Believe in Miracles”.

City and GFPB officials are extremely excited and pleased with the participation and excitement throughout the community.

“The holidays are a time for making memories with family,” according to Mayor Washington. “We want Mistletoe Magic to be a part of those memories for years to come.”

“Mistletoe Magic: Believe in Miracles” is a presentation of the Delta Celebration Series, sponsored in part by Go Forward Pine Bluff and Pine Bluff Parks and Recreation. Community sponsors include Relyance Bank, M.K. Distributors, and Sissy’s Log Cabin.

Free parking will be available at Regional Park’s Softball Complex with the City’s Transit Department providing a shuttle on the Trolley Car to and from Saracen Landing.
