Make plans to attend the First Friday Monthly in Camden AR on October 5th.
The open-air evening market will happen from 6PM till 9PM in downtown Camden. Washington St. will be closed to traffic and the street lined with a vast array of vendors for all your shopping pleasure. There will be several favorites returning to the market such as vintage goods, holiday decorations, homemade fried pies and jewelry while new vendors will be joining in for you to enjoy including vendors of grass fed meats, local honey, beauty products, elaborate face painting and more.
If you are looking to complete your fall decorations, this is the place to be with mums, pumpkins, hay bales and more. You can also find the foods to bring you that fall flavor from apple cider, fresh apple cake, funnel cakes and more!
Live music will be provided by the husband and wife duo of Harper and Lee at the corner of Washington St and Adams Ave. Their style is Folk/Americana with a sound inspired by The Avett Brothers, The Lumineers, Bob Dylan among other folk artists. They have been touring around Arkansas, Louisiana, Texas and the mid-west this summer, but agreed to stop by and treat us to a show on October 5th!!
The Camden Police Department will be offering a free Hayride at the market. The rides will start on Washington and Madison and travel down to the Amphitheater and back.
Several contest will be happening at the October market, so come be a part, either by participating or by voting. Downtown businesses will be competing in a window display contest, there is a scarecrow competition. You will be able to vote for your favorite on either contest, on the Facebook page: First Friday: Monthly Market in Camden AR or by stopping by the First Friday Welcome tent.
There will be a pumpkin decorating / carving contest with 2 ages groups, children up to 12 years of age, ages 13 through adult. Bring your pumpkin already prepared to the market between 5:45 and 6:15, judging will be between 6:30 to 7:00PM.
Plan to spend a fun family evening that celebrates everything fall in Camden.
