Senior Art Exhibits On Display Today Through April 16

(4/4/18)

MONTICELLO, AR — Four senior art exhibits will be on display at the University of Arkansas at Monticello beginning today (April 4) through April 16 in the Glassblock Gallery of the Taylor Library and Technology Center.

Danielle West of England and Deavon Smith-Collins of Fayetteville will hold joint exhibitions April 4 though April 9. Sarah Slaughter and Heather Bratton, both of Monticello, will hold exhibitions April 11-16.

West's showing is a combination of mixed media, spray paint, acrylic, watercolor, ink, graphite and ceramics. Smith-Collins pays homage to traditional African artwork in form, subject and color, reflecting her personal style as an emerging African-American artist.

Slaughter's work features abstract watercolor landscapes as well as expressive color ceramic pieces. Bratton's exhibition will include paintings, collaged images, intense color and direct application of paint.

Gallery hours are 9-10 a.m. and 12-2 p.m. Monday and Wednesday, 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday, and 12-2 p.m. Friday. For more information, contact Tom Richard, professor of art, at (870) 460-1338.
