Dr. Sue Martin Presents Workshop For Youth Art Month

In honor of Youth Art Month, Dr. Sue Martin presented a workshop on Imagination Art at the library. She told the children about an artist named Pablo Picasso and showed them some artwork he created. She talked about how you can create art using many different shapes and sizes. Dr. Sue wore a coat of many colors handmade by Karly Mercer, and talked about Dolly Parton and how she donates so much to the Dolly Parton Imagination Library. She also read the book "Coat of Many Colors" by Dolly Parton. The children listened to a CD of Dolly Parton while they created their own artwork of a coat of many colors. Dr. Sue encouraged the children with a quote by Picasso, "Every child is an artist, it's a challenge to remain an artist when you grow up". Their artwork is on display at the Library.
