Bradley County Extension Council Event

The annual Bradley County Extension Council Interpretive Event was conducted Tuesday, February 20th at the Warren Senior Center located on N. Ethridge St.  It began at 5;00 P.M. with a welcome by John Gavin, County Extension Agent-Staff Chairman, followed by remarks from County Judge Klay McKinney.  Planning Committee reports were then presented.  Luther Dangerfield gave the agriculture report, Joel Tolefree presented the Economic & Community Development report, Judy Simmons presented the Family & Consumer Sciences/EHC report and Ken Simmons gave the 4-H/youth Development report. 

Harry L. McCaskill is the Chairman of the Council.Thirty-one individuals serve on the council and planning committees.  The committees identify the needs and assist, plan, conduct and evaluate Extension programs. 

John Gavin and Michelle Carter presented information on the various activities and programs of Extension for the past year.  Several Bradley County Justices of the Peace were in attendance as was Warren Mayor Bryan Martin.  Dinner was provided by the EHC ladies.  As usual, it was outstanding. 

According to John Gavin, the annual Jr. Exhibitor Premium Sale included 49 participants and raised $20,065.00.  Throughout the history of the sale, it has generated $265,650.00.
