Bradley County Celebrates Christmas, 2017

Central Missionary Baptist Church's float entry in the Christmas parade.
Thursday evening, December 7th a larger crowd turned out to celebrate Christmas in Bradley County.  A nice parade with bands and floats traveled down Main Street the South and moved over to Myrtle Street and traveled north through the downtown area.  Prior to the parade, sleigh rides were available and at 4:30 P.M. a ceremony was held in front of the Courthouse remembering and honoring those who served and died at Pearl Harbor.  It was the anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor that sent America into WWII.   David Richey prayed and Veteran John Little made remarks.  Carrie Ann Mann sang the National Anthem and God Bless America.
Union Bank was one of the businesses that entered a float.

Prior to the parade, First United Methodist Church hosted an advent supper.  Members of the Church provided the meal and served those in attendance.  There was no charge to the public.
Many enjoyed the 15 bean soup at First United Methodist Church's Advent Feast.

Winners of the float contest were as follows:
*First Place-Hermitage Baptist Church
*Second Place-Hermitage All School
*Third Place-Southeast Arkansas community Based Education Center

Leah St John organized the parade and activities through the Bradley County Chamber of Commerce.
Sleigh rides were offered around the court square.
