"Happy Dog Duo" To Perform

MONTICELLO, AR — Classical pianists Eric Tran and Nathan Cheung, who perform as the Happy Dog Duo, will appear in concert at the University of Arkansas at Monticello September 14 as part of the National Federation of Music Clubs' 2017 Young Artists Series. The performance, which begins at 7 p.m. in the Fine Arts Center auditorium, is free and open to the public.
Tran and Cheung have performed together for 10 years and describe their work as "four hands, one piano brining humor and joy to the classical music world." They won both the first prize and the Abild American Music Award at the 2017 Ellis Duo-Piano Competition hosted by the National Federation of Music Clubs. They have won 13 gold medals in piano duo events at the U.S. Open Music Competition and have performed with the Stanford Symphony Orchestra, the Diablo Symphony Orchestra, and the Vallejo Symphony.
Tran ad Cheung have made multiple appearances at the Aspen Music Festival, toured China, Korea, Canada and New York with the award-winning Pawn: The Musical, and are the first piano duo to perform in Bing Concert Hall.
