3rd Annual Delta Flix Film and Media Festival: April 5-8

JONESBORO – The Delta Flix Film and Media Festival is in its 3rd year at Arkansas State University.

The Delta Flix Film and Media Festival celebrate those who express their passion for storytelling through film, video, photography and multimedia presentations.  Delta Flix Film and Media Festival provides a venue for beginning, emerging and established media artists to exhibit their work, learn from each other, and develop an appreciation for the art of film, photography, and multimedia.

The festival, sponsored by the Department of Media in collaboration with the Delta Symposium, will take place from Wednesday through Saturday, April 5‑8.   Most events will take place in the Student Union Auditorium on the third floor of the Carl R. Reng Student Union, 101 North Caraway Road.

At noon on Wednesday, April 5, John T. Wayne, grandson of movie star John Wayne, will make a special presentation.  Various media and panel presentations will continue throughout the afternoon, as well as screenings of films and media projects.

This year’s festival features films and media presentations from local and regional media makers.

Presentations include "The Arkansas Wildman," a documentary about local rock and roll pioneer Sonny Burgess; "The First Secret City," a feature-length documentary revealing the impact of contaminated nuclear waste used on the atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima on communities in the St. Louis area in the 21st century; and "Ridge Runners," a feature film by local filmmaker and A-State graduate Hunter West about a missing girl from a small Southern town caught up in the world of sex trafficking.
